My passion in life has always been to help others. This passion prompted me to move to Canada many years ago to make a better life for my daughters and myself.  It guided me as a non-profit professional, small business owner, union mediator and community advocate. Now, it motivates me as a Toronto City Council candidate for Ward 25, Scarborough-Rouge River.

For over 20 years, I worked in the non-profit sector. Whether it’s fighting hunger and homelessness through my work as a former Fundraising Manager with United Way Toronto, or as an advocate for women’s health and empowerment, my goal is always the same– to put families first! One of my most successful initiatives was the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation “Paint Your School Pink” program which raises breast cancer awareness and funds in more than 200 schools across Ontario. My work and its results give you a glimpse of the type of councillor I would be – engaged with the community, focused on the outcome and determined to make positive changes happen.

One of the reasons, I love living in Ward 25 are the families. Our families come from every cultural background imaginable and give our communities a rich cultural mosaic. Our families also face unique challenges such as unemployment and underemployment, lengthy TTC commute times, unaffordable housing and unavailable daycare. Let's work together to change this.

I’m running to put families back on the agenda at City Hall. Join me and together we can make change happen. Remember, strong families make strong communities!
